On 21 June 2021, the District Court of Helsinki issued a judgment by default in a case involving unjustified termination of an employee’s employment relationship. Following a change made to the Unemployment Security Act, as of 1 August 2021 earnings-related allowance can only be paid to persons who have reached the age of 18 years.
