Are your membership fees unpaid?
A letter is being sent out this week to those PAM members with outstanding membership fees in the period January-June 2020. By keeping your membership fees up to date, you make sure that you keep your membership benefits.
Members with outstanding membership fees in the period January-June 2020 will be getting a reminder letter from PAM in the next few days. So check your mail, and if you get a letter don’t worry – you still have a last chance to get your membership fees up to date.
If you put your membership fees in order, either by paying the outstanding fees or by giving an acceptable reason, you won’t lose your membership. Acceptable reasons include family leave, studying, military service. Read more here.
Sometimes membership fees can get forgotten or be unpaid for one reason or another. But they need to be brought up to date, because non-payment of membership fees can lead to loss of membership of the union and the unemployment fund. If your membership ends, you also lose your employment and unemployment security as well as the other membership benefits.
Paying membership fees
There are two ways to pay membership fees. You can either let your employer deduct them directly from your wages or you can pay them yourself.
The easiest way is to let your employer deduct your membership fees directly from your wages. Then you don’t need to work out from your gross pay each month how much your membership fees are – your employer does this for you. Read more about the different ways to pay membership fees here.
If, however, you want to pay your membership fees yourself, you can do this easily in PAM’s e-services.
