Julia Melis, who is a cleaning attendant at RTK-Palvelu, knows that unexpected things can happen at work.
I’m Julia Melis, 42 years old.
I live in Helsinki with my husband and child.
I joined PAM on 16 February 2020.
I work as a cleaning attendant at RTK-Palvelu.
My main job is cleaning and maintaining buses. During my work, I’ve learned the best way to clean a bus, but I’ve also seen all the things that are inside a bus. Now I know what to do in certain problem situations, for example, I know how to open bus doors manually, which is something I didn’t previously know. It’s important to know these things, because I have recently completed my studies to become a bus driver, and I will soon be ready to start that work.
I joined PAM because I want to be protected in the world of work. There are so many things that can happen during employment that are impossible to predict. For example, you may even get fired. I believe that PAM will help me with such things, and that’s important to me.
During my free time I enjoy spending time with my child and my dog in Finland. I’m originally from Estonia, but I love my new home in Helsinki.
