PAM Executive Committee approved new collective agreements for ski resorts and adventure services for two years
The Executive Committee of Service Union United PAM has approved new collective agreements for ski resort and adventure service employees. The new collective agreements will be valid 1 November 2019–31 October 2021 and they cover approximately 1,300 employees working in various duties at ski resorts and the adventure services sector.
Salaries have been decided for one year. Salary increases may be agreed locally primarily in companies which have a shop steward. If there is no shop steward, or the salary cannot be agreed unanimously in the company, the increase will be determined by the salary decision for the commercial sector. Salaries for the second year will be decided in October 2020.
As a new feature, the collective agreements will pay more attention to salaries paid during illness relating to an accident at work. The agreement for adventure services agreed on a bonus for night work done between 20.00 and 06.00.
Annika Rönni-Sällinen, the President of PAM, described the now completed negotiations as challenging, even though the general atmosphere remained constructive throughout.
“The negotiations for the ski resort and adventure services sectors with the Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa lasted for nearly two months, and even though the situation was difficult, the participants kept actively pursuing a solution. This ensures that our cooperation will be productive also in the future,” says the President.
The extension of the extra hours added with the competitiveness agreement will be agreed between the parties during the coming year. The working group deciding this matter should consider other solutions made in the labour market.
The collective agreement for ski resorts covers approximately 700 employees and the agreement for adventure services, approximately 600 employees. The agreements will pertain to various jobs at ski resorts, including slope attendants, maintenance and field staff, safari guides and skiing instructors.
