PAM's Union Congress begins today – The priority action programme streches to year 2024
The Service Unioon United PAM's Congress starts today. During the congress a new President is elected among others and a new priority action programme is decided upon. It is possible to follow the Union Congress, which gathers 373 delegates, live.
Last spring's Union Congress Elections are culminating today when the Union Congress commences. The Congress itself opens with a ceremony scheduled at 11 am. The afternoon is carried out in workshops, where the delegates are advising committees on the priority action programme and its' content, which is finally decided upon on Thursday.
The political groups gathered yesterday evening.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, a new Union President is elected. Ann Selin, who has been the leader of PAM for the past 17 years, announced a year ago that she is not standing for elections, and will be giving her speech at 9 am in the morning.
Apart from a new union President, the Union Congress is electing an individual deputy for the President as well as members of PAM's Council and members of the Executive Committee.
On Thursday the Union Congress is deciding on the priority action programme, which determines the union's activities for the next four years. The new President will also give his/hers policy speech.
