PAM and the Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa have approved a pay settlement that increases pay scales for employees and supervisors in the hotel, restaurant and leisure industry.

The collective agreement for the hotel, restaurant and leisure industry was negotiated in exceptional circumstances last autumn. An agreement period of 1 October 2020 – 31 March 2022 was agreed on, but no pay settlement was reached at the time due to the uncertain outlook. The negotiating parties agreed on two separate pay review dates, however, the first being 1 February 2021 and the second 1 October 2021.

Now the first pay settlement has been agreed and it has been approved by the organisations’ executives.

The pay settlement means that pay scales under the collective agreement will increase by 15 – 24 euros a month. Supervisors’ pay scales will increase by 20 – 25 euros. Bonuses or payments in the collective agreement denominated in euros or cents will not be increased.

“Despite the difficult operating environment, the pay negotiations were conducted in a positive spirit. For us it is important that in this challenging situation the minimum wages in the collective agreement are being increased”, says PAM President Annika Rönni-Sällinen.

Separate negotiations will be held by the end of September on the second pay settlement in the agreement period, which is due to come into effect on 1 October 2021.
