Processing times for earnings-related daily allowance applications stretched in January
The number of applications to the Unemployment Fund is growing, especially for recipients of adjusted allowances. More applications were filed in November-December compared to earlier in the autumn.
There has also been a noticeable increase in the first allowance applications. In addition, due to New Year's holidays, there was less workdays to process applications in weeks 52 and 53.
Currently, the processing times for the first applications are about three weeks and for the follow-up-applications less than two weeks. The aim is to process follow-up-applications for unemployed members until the previous day. In applications for adjusted allowances, there are cues, especially at the turn of the month, as a result of which the processing time can be extended to two weeks. You can follow the processing situation of applications by the Unemployment Fund here.
The Unemploymend Fund is working hard to reduce processing times and reduce the application burden. The situation will be resolved through new work arrangements, overtime and also by hiring new staff. We hope that applicants will contact by phone or online service only in cases where they need advice. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and contact by telephone or online service will not speed up the processing of your application.
