The negotiations cover around 1700 employees. They could lead to termination of employment, lay-offs or part-time working for 150 persons.

Sodexo Oy, which provides restaurant, facility and lobby services, began extensive co-operation negotiations today 12 February. These were for financial and production reasons owing to the company’s worse than expected financial performance.

The co-operation negotiations cover a total of around 1700 persons, and apply to hotel and restaurant employees and supervisors, facility services employees and senior clerical employees. The co-operation negotiations affect all staff in Sodexo’s entire Corporate and Healthcare & Education segment, i.e. employees serving customers in the corporate, healthcare and educations sectors apart from employees in the Transport unit.

Sodexo’s initial appraisal is that the co-operation negotiations could lead to job cuts, lay-offs or short-time working for 150 employees in total. There may also be changes to employment conditions and job descriptions.

The negotiations will last for six weeks and they are expected to end before the end of March.
