Membership - 21.12.2020 klo 11.30

The membership fee will remain unchanged in 2021

Changes in your life situation should also be reported to the union. For example, if you are on parental leave or leaving for military service, you are then entitled to payment exemption. Photo: GettyImages.

PAM's membership fee is 1.5 percent of gross salary also next year. The membership fee is paid for all salary income and all employment relationships.

The membership fee can be deducted from taxation. During February, PAM will provide the Tax Administration with information on the membership fees you paid in 2020. However, you should check the tax proposal that the deductible membership fees are correct.

Payment of membership fee

The easiest way is to let the employer withhold the membership fee directly from your salary. In this case, you do not have to calculate each month how much the membership fee is from the monthly gross income, but the employer will take care of it for you. Read more about the different payment options for membership fees here.

If you pay the membership fee yourself, the easiest way is e-invoice. You can access the e-invoice through your online bank. Here are instructions on how to set up an e-invoice.

Payment of the membership fee is also easy in PAM's Membership services. At the same time, you can check that your membership information is in order.

If you use reference numbers, you will receive the 2021 reference list during January.  Please always remember to use the correct month reference so that the membership fee is for the correct month.

When the membership fee is not necessary to pay

Student membership is free and valid until the end of studies. If you are a student member and you work (for example, in the summer or in addition to your studies), you should join as a full member, in which case you pay the membership fee.

In addition to the studies, the membership fee is normally paid for the salary earned. When you study full-time and do not work while studying, you are entitled to a membership fee exemption.

Changes in life can have an impact on membership fees. You are entitled to a membership fee exemption when you are out of work for an acceptable reason and do not receive wage income.

Inform us of any changes

In PAM's digital services, you can check and correct your membership information and pay membership fees. For example, you can indicate in the service if you have changed employer or job position. Other changes in the life situation should also be reported. For example, if you are on parental leave or leaving for military service, you are then entitled to payment exemption. If your wage income is interrupted and you do not receive the benefit paid by the unemployment fund, report it via the online service.

If you have any questions about membership fees or situations where you do not have to pay membership fees, please contact us.
