Collective bargaining process - 15.01.2018 klo 09.25

Working conditions in the hospitality, retail and facilities services sector to be discussed this week

A busy week of collective bargaining will start off today with collective agreement negotiations for the hospitality sector. In the retail sector, negotiations will be held on Tuesday and at the end of the week, and in the facilities services sector on Wednesday.

Collective agreement negotiations for hospitality and leisure services will continue on Monday afternoon from 2 p.m. Negotiations in the retail sector will continue this week on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The smaller retail negotiating boards will meet on Thursday and Friday. In the facilities services sector, Wednesday is the scheduled negotiating day. Negotiations in all three major sectors started last week.

Meetings have also been agreed for negotiations in the smaller sectors. The golf sector will continue the negotiations it started last week on Tuesday and again on Friday. Pay and working conditions in pharmacies and the Finnish National Theatre will be discussed on Tuesday and the Finnish National Opera on Friday.

The union’s Executive Committee will meet in Helsinki on Tuesday to consider the situation in the collective agreement negotiations. The union’s negotiators will also receive input from the three agreement sector commissions. The retail agreement sector commission will meet on Thursday, and the hospitality and facilities services sector agreement sector commissions on Friday. The agreement sector commissions assist the Executive Committee and eventually propose acceptance or rejection of the negotiating outcome to the Executive Committee.

What is in progress is a union-specific collective bargaining round, i.e. it is employee and employer associations negotiating pay rises and employment conditions, and not the central organisations. This week PAM is negotiating with the Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa, the Finnish Commerce Federation, Service Sector Employers Palta, the Pharmacist Employers Association of Finland and the Association of Finnish Theatres.
