Transferring to PAM from another union or unemployment fund
Updated: 28.12.2021
When you join PAM, enter details of your previous trade union or unemployment fund in the membership form. Also check the box to authorise PAM to do the change of union on your behalf. Then you don’t need to tell your previous union you are transferring to PAM – PAM will contact them for you, ensuring a smooth transfer.
When does my membership begin?
You membership begins on the day when the membership form reaches PAM’s membership register and from which membership fees have been paid.
When I change unions, do I keep my unemployment security with no cut-off?
You can change to PAM from another union or YTK worry-free: with unbroken union membership you keep your right to earnings-related unemployment allowance. If you have already resigned from your previous union or unemployment fund, make sure you join PAM within 30 days to keep your accrued work requirement that entitles you to earnings-related unemployment allowance. Make sure your membership fees have been paid to your previous union and unemployment fund up to the date you transfer.
