The controversial bill on easing individual dismissals proceeds to Parliament’s debate. PAM’s Legal Manager Arja Pohjola concludes that the rationale of the law, drafted in tripartite negotiations with the unions, will protect workers from arbitrary dismissals.

Mediation in the collective agreement for the security guarding sector will continue next week. Following a proposal by National Conciliator Vuokko Piekkala, the strike at Securitas Oy and Securitas Palvelut Oy will be postponed by two weeks. Service Union United PAM does not sympathise with postponement of the strike.
