Regional offices are serving members by appointment–no appointment needed on Mondays
A new appointment booking service will be introduced as of 27 September in all the regional offices apart from Helsinki-Uusimaa. The aim is to offer members improved service and cut waiting times.
You usually have to make an appointment at government offices and many service sector companies. Now Service Union United will take a step in the same direction for the services offered by its regional offices. The new appointment policy will be introduced on Monday 27 September.
The new appointment booking service will be used at these regional offices: Turku, Tampere, Pori, Vaasa, Jyväskylä, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Kuopio, Joensuu, Kouvola and Lahti. Appointments are needed at these 11 regional offices, but not at the Helsinki-Uusimaa office. This is because the Helsinki office is bigger and has enough staff to provide service for members.
According to PAM’s Organisation Director Risto Kalliorinne, the new system will mean members get better service.
“Members won’t have to waste time queueing in the office. With this new system, we can also avoid that the official who knows your situation best is out on a workplace visit just when you visit the office”, Kalliorinne says.
Offices open on Mondays without appointments
You can still visit or contact the regional offices one day a week without an advance appointment.

Nationwide service numbers unchanged
According to Kalliorinne, the new system won’t mean such a big change to the union’s services as one might think.
You can still call the union’s nationwide service numbers without an appointment. The employment helpline, membership helpline and the unemployment fund helpline are open every weekday from 10 am to 2 pm.
Also, the e-services are available online 24 hours a day, as is the unemployment fund’s online service. It’s easy to do anything related to your membership on e-services, like telling the union you’ve changed your job.
Easy to use
The appointment booking system is easy to use. To log in, all you need is your date of birth or union membership number.
To book an appointment with your regional office, go online at any time. You also decide what type of appointment you want – either a meeting in person, a conversation by phone or a Teams meeting.
“Members don’t even need to come to the regional office if they don’t want to. You can choose a time to be contacted by a PAM member of staff by phone or online on the Teams app”, Kalliorinne says.
You can make an appointment for employment issues or any other issues.
