High time for a raise - PAM is in wage negotiations

In the last round of negotiations on employment terms in the service sectors a two-year agreement period was agreed. However, minimum wages and increases were only agreed for the first year of the agreement period. That’s why service sector wages are being negotiated now. If no agreement is reached, the collective agreement can be terminated.

On this page you can find the latest information on how the negotiating round is progressing!

What are PAM’s objectives in the wage negotiations?

Service sector professionals have been living through unprecedented uncertainty. First of all Covid struck, and now inflation. Service sector professionals have deserved a pay rise. Now it’s high time for a rise.

Wages for a good life

  • Everybody has the right to a good life. That includes service sector professionals. A good life consists of a decent income, time for leisure pursuits and looking after yourself. And of course family life.
  • Wages are a building block for a good life. If your pay is not right, it becomes impossible to build a good life. Especially now that all everyday costs are going up and up. That’s why it’s now high time for a rise.

Wages for continually taking the strain

  • In service sectors taking the strain has become part of everyday life. In recent years we have been stretched to the limit. Constantly taking the strain for your employer is stressful and is a burden on service sector professionals’ wellbeing.
  • Service sector professionals need compensating for continually taking the strain. Demands and expectations on employees cannot be increased endlessly without proper compensation. That’s why it’s now high time for a rise.

Wages to keep the work attractive

  • The work of service sector professionals gives other people a good life. Without us restaurants, bars and cinemas wouldn’t open. That’s why the attractiveness of service sectors is in the interest of society as a whole.
  • Wages are a key factor in attracting and retaining staff. Nobody can get by just by being thanked. Wages are the best way to acknowledge the work that service sector professionals do every day. That’s why it’s now high time for a rise.
